About The Team

The First Line Risk team is responsible for ensuring day-to-day governance of risk and controls through appropriate governance, assessments, monitoring, and building a proactive risk culture

Impact

Support and execute risk transformation, supporting BUs with risk-based approaches and decisions as they deliver on maintaining and improving the Bank's risk posture, conduct risk forums, reduce vendor-imposed risk, support effective controls, and leverage change management to manage and implement risk related initiatives

Key Deliverables

• Establish and run First Citizens India's first line governance routines including risk posture linked to local statutory compliance, contingency risk and third-party contractual engagements
• Serve as the primary First Line risk partner for the India Leadership team and business process owners
• Drive execution of RCSA, control testing, control self-assessments, and annual process reviews
• Lead issue identification, documentation and remediation planning
• Conduct First Line risk reviews for new migrations, process changes, and technology upgrades
• Develop working relationship with the second line risk team and develop an appropriate engagement model
• Manage and develop India first line risk team – provide coaching and mentorship to team members
• Develop working relationships with global first line risk leaders and align on India team's priorities
• Liaison with Global BU's to ensure BU specific India risks are considered in the Enterprise Risk profiles
  
  

Skills And Qualification

Functional Skills:

• Strong understanding of first line responsibilities in banks – process risk, control execution, issue management, remediation and operational readiness
• Expertise in RCSA, control testing, process risk mapping and operational risk taxonomy including performing gap analysis to identify missing controls
• Knowledge of various banking (LFI) and government regulatory requirements and processes including India regulation – experience in banking GCC or global bank operating model strongly preferred
• People management skills including the ability to upskill and coach junior team members
  
  

Technical/Business Skills

• Ability to structure verbal and written communication that is effective in senior stakeholder settings
• Understanding of data protection, access controls and technology change controls from a first line perspective
• 16+ years of overall experience in relevant domain
• Highly skilled in process mapping, control documentation and risk assessment methodologies
