Role Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior RPG Developer with 10–15 years of strong IBM i (AS / 400) development expertise. The ideal consultant will be responsible for leading development activities, working on complex RPG programs, supporting application enhancements, and guiding other developers throughout the software development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance applications using RPG / 400, RPG-ILE, RPG Free , and CL programming .
• Build and manage ILE modules, service programs, bound programs, and binding directories .
• Work extensively with IBM DB2 and SQL for data processing, stored procedures, and query optimization.
• Expose IBM i business logic for external systems through stored procedures, APIs, and web service integrations .
• Translate functional requirements into detailed technical designs and system specifications.
• Perform coding, debugging, unit testing, and support activities across application platforms.
• Collaborate with business analysts and technical teams to implement application enhancements.
• Manage full lifecycle project tasks including analysis, design, development, testing, and deployment.
• Recommend improvements to development processes and coding standards.
• Provide technical direction and mentorship to junior developers.
• Troubleshoot production issues and ensure timely resolution in a fast-paced environment.
