Job description

Role Overview :

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Automation Tester specializing in Python to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing automated test scripts to ensure the quality and performance of our software applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Python programming and experience with testing frameworks, tools, and methodologies.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts using Python.
  • Collaborate with developers, product managers, and QA teams to understand requirements and define test automation strategies.
  • Identify test cases and scenarios for automation, ensuring comprehensive test coverage.
  • Perform functional, regression, integration, and performance testing.
  • Analyze test results, identify defects, and work closely with the development team for resolution.
  • Develop and maintain testing frameworks and tools to support automation efforts.
  • Monitor and report on test coverage, execution results, and defects.
  • Stay updated on the latest tools and techniques in test automation and recommend improvements to existing processes.
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure testability and quality standards are met.
  • Document test cases, procedures, and findings in a clear and organized manner.

Required Skills and Qualification :

  • Educational Background :
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience :
  • Proven experience in test automation using Python (2+ years preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of testing frameworks such as PyTest, unittest, or Robot Framework.
  • Technical Skills :
  • Proficiency in Python programming language.
  • Familiarity with test automation tools like Selenium, Appium, or similar.
  • Experience with CI / CD pipelines and integrating automated tests into build processes.
  • Knowledge of version control systems such as Git.
  • Familiarity with API testing tools (e.g., Postman, RestAssured) and frameworks.
  • Understanding of BDD / TDD methodologies and tools like Cucumber or Behave.
  • Soft Skills :
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team in an Agile / Scrum environment.
