Role Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Backend Developer with strong experience in the payments
industry. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in Node.js, TypeScript, and Java, a solid
understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases, and proven experience in implementing PCI DSS
standards for secure payment systems. You will also bring strong knowledge of cryptography and
cloud platforms (AWS preferred) to design secure and scalable backend architectures.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain secure backend services and APIs for payment processing
systems, including card tokenization.
Implement and enforce PCI DSS compliance across backend systems and infrastructure.Apply cryptography best practices (encryption, hashing, tokenization, HSM usage) to protectsensitive financial data.
Architect and deploy applications in AWS, leveraging services such as EC2, RDS, SecretsManager, KMS, Lambda, and S3.
Work with SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis) databases, ensuringperformance, scalability, and data security.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (security, DevOps, product) to ensure compliance withindustry regulations (PCI DSS, GDPR, PSD2, etc.).
Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and design reviews, ensuring high standardsfor quality and security.
Build automated tests (unit, integration, load) and CI / CD pipelines for reliable delivery.Troubleshoot production issues and contribute to incident response and root cause analysis.Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.5+ years of professional backend development experience in fintech, banking, or paymentsindustry.
Strong proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript, with additional experience in Java.Proven expertise with SQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB,Redis).
Demonstrated experience implementing PCI DSS controls in production-grade payment systems.Solid knowledge of cryptography (AES, RSA, ECC, hashing, tokenization, key management, HSMintegration).
Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services (EC2, RDS, Lambda, KMS, Secrets Manager, S3,VPC, IAM).
Strong understanding of API design (REST, GraphQL, gRPC), authentication (OAuth2.0, JWT),and secure communication protocols (TLS, mTLS).
Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and automated CI / CD pipelines.Strong problem-solving, debugging, and performance optimization skills.Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills
Experience with payment gateways, tokenization, and EMVCo standards.Familiarity with AWS Payment Cryptography services and key management practices.Exposure to event-driven systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.) and microservices architectures.Experience in regulated industries (fintech, banking, payments).Soft Skills
