Join our Security Practice team as a Security Architect / Security Practice Expert and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of automotive security for BMW products. With the rapid evolution and increasing complexity of connected cars, your expertise will be instrumental in designing, consulting, and implementing cutting-edge security architectures that safeguard next-generation automotive systems.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Act as a trusted security consultant and hands-on expert, supporting multiple development teams in identifying and mitigating risks through comprehensive risk analyses such as TARA (Threat Analysis and Risk Assessment).
  • Lead Threat Modeling efforts using methodologies like STRIDE to anticipate and counteract potential security threats.
  • Provide training, guidance, and coaching to software development teams on creating secure software architectures aligned with industry best practices.
  • Drive the adoption and integration of modern security tools and processes within the software

development lifecycle, including Static Code Analysis, Fuzzing, and Security Testing Frameworks.

  • Influence and steer project-level decisions to implement robust security controls and measures.
  • Perform thorough security reviews of source code and configuration settings to identify vulnerabilities and recommend remediation strategies.
  • Mentor development teams on secure coding standards, vulnerability prevention, and security best practices.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including software architects, developers, and QA to embed security early and throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Required Experience and Skills :

  • In-depth technical knowledge of security features and internals of Linux (including SELinux, dm-verity, Secure Boot) and Android (application sandboxing, permission model, encryption, debugging, secure coding practices, authentication, and authorization).
  • Strong understanding of isolation techniques, containerization mechanisms, and their application in secure environments.
  • Proven experience conducting security-focused source code reviews and actively hunting for vulnerabilities.
  • Hands-on experience with Threat Modeling frameworks such as STRIDE, performing TARA, and familiarity with automotive cybersecurity standards like ISO 21434.
  • Solid background in modern software development using C++, Java, and Kotlin on Linux and Android platforms.
  • Familiarity with cryptographic principles and their practical applications within automotive systems.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills to guide and influence teams towards stronger security postures.
