Amazon's Financial Risk Mitigation (FRM) team works to ensure that bad actors cannot profit from using our services to abuse Customers, Selling Partners or our Store. We are looking for a Senior People Manager to lead complex initiatives that disrupt bad actor behaviors and generate strategic insights to help us understand and prevent emerging fraud patterns.
You will be responsible for managing a team of Individual Contributors and / or People Managers that holistically review accounts for fraudulent or counterfeit abuse, deep dive supply chains and verify seller identities in-person. You will define metrics and may define goals and design long-term strategy for achieving and exceeding team's defined metrics through rigorous performance management. You will lead strategic planning and project road mapping activities spanning 1-3 years. You will drive intelligence initiatives targeting new and emerging fraud threats to Amazon and handle complex escalations requiring cross-organizational collaboration. You will establish workflows and service level agreements while partnering with multiple global teams to identify customer value and deliver solutions.
Key job responsibilities
- Manage a team of Individual Contributors and / or People Managers, potentially across multiple locations
- Lead complex problem-solving efforts and establish workflows / SLAs while ensuring customer outcomes are auditable and decisions are data-driven.
- Drive strategic initiatives (1-3 years) and participate in annual planning processes.
- Manage and respond to senior leadership escalations through well-structured presentations and documentation, providing clear, actionable solutions while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with cross-functional stakeholders to strengthen risk management practices across the organization.
- Define metrics and goals, monitor key performance indicators, and provide guidance to constantly meet and exceed goals.
- Execute comprehensive process analyses and drive the use of best practices (including kaizens).
- Develop employees through collaborative development planning, coaching, and strategic project assignment.
- Identify and mitigate long-term risks while finding paths forward in difficult situations.
- Partner with cross functional teams across Amazon for collaboration on fraud risks and investigations.
- Drive operational excellence and process improvement initiatives.
- Analyze the key levers of the business to identify trends and proactively act to eliminate root causes for defects
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree with 7+ years of relevant industry experience in law, investigations, risk management, or project managementMinimum 5+ years of people management experience where the potential candidate would have managed a larger org size of 35+ team members.Strong interpersonal and presentation skills with ability to influence stakeholdersData-driven decision making and advanced quantitative analysis skillsProven track record in hiring and developing teamsAdvanced working knowledge of MS OfficeAdvanced skills in writing SQL queriesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExperience working with and influencing cross-departmental teamsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
