Job Title : Material / Geotechnical Engineer

Qualification :

Graduate in Civil Engineering

Post-Graduation in one of the following specializations :

Geotechnical Engineering

Soil Mechanics

Foundation Engineering

Experience Required :

Total Professional Experience : Minimum 15 years in the construction of Buildings / Bridges / Airfield Runways.

Relevant Experience : Must have worked as a Material / Geotechnical Engineer in construction or construction supervision of :

Building projects with minimum 10,000 sqm built-up area and 4 or more storeys , OR

Building projects with minimum 5,000 sqm built-up area and 3 or more storeys , OR

Building projects with a project cost of Rs. 50 crore or above .

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Material / Geotechnical Engineer to oversee and ensure the quality, safety, and stability of building and infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise in soil investigation, foundation design, and material testing, along with extensive field experience in construction and supervision.

Key Responsibilities :

Conduct geotechnical investigations, soil testing, and foundation assessments for various building and infrastructure projects.

Review and verify geotechnical reports, design recommendations, and material specifications.

Provide expert guidance on foundation design, slope stability, ground improvement, and earthwork methodologies.

Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with geotechnical design, material standards, and quality requirements.

Supervise material testing including concrete, steel, aggregates, and soil to ensure adherence to project specifications and codes.

Identify potential geotechnical risks and propose mitigation strategies.

Coordinate with structural, architectural, and construction teams for integrated project execution.

Prepare technical reports, documentation, and quality compliance records.

Assist in resolving site-related geotechnical issues and support decision-making during construction.

Skills & Competencies :

Strong understanding of soil behavior, foundation engineering, and material testing protocols.

Proficiency in geotechnical analysis software and laboratory testing processes.

Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound technical judgments.

Effective communication and coordination skills for multidisciplinary teamwork.

Thorough knowledge of relevant IS codes, geotechnical standards, and construction quality norms.
