Application Integration Engineer
Overview of Role / Role Purpose
Application Integration Engineer has end to end accountability for integration of new and migrating applications, architecture and design of UK GTS. The Application Integration Engineer is required to maintain the integrity of the Global Technology Services and International Brokerage IT architecture by ensuring all proposed Business / IT Change Projects comply with the overall architectural blueprint. The role will Lead on IT Architecture & Solutions Design to define and govern the implementation of IT solutions that reflect business requirements and are aligned to the International Brokerage Business and Global Technology Services Strategy to enable business capability and reduce / manage the overall technical design debt. The Application Integration Engineer will be expected to work effectively with key business stakeholders and the IT team, providing advice, communicating key decisions and ensuring IT solutions adhere to appropriate architecture standards.
Core Responsibilities
- Taking overall Architecture, Design leadership & accountability across all Business and IT change projects to validate the design and implementation based on the Global Technology Services Strategy and International Brokerage architectural standards and guidelines.
- Applying strong governance to ensure that the delivered solution is compliant with its original design and associated decisions
- Write and support technical proposals and RFP responses.
- Lead, define technical strategy and key deliverables through the project phase.
- Reduce Global Technology Services and International Brokerage technical design debt
- Resolve and when appropriate escalate Key Design Decisions to ensure the development of cost effective, operable and robust systems
- Working closely with Infrastructure engineering teams and Information Management teams to ensure systems changes are clearly understood and aligned across IT applications
- Ensuring that Applications are documented with High and low level designs, build documentation, Appication handover and DR documentation.
- Providing technical advice and support to Business, IT and 3rd Party partners in matters related to Application Integration to ensure that developments meet required standards
- Offer technology insight to latest technology trends to help deliver new and innovative IT solutions to the Arthur J. Gallagher business
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of the Internation Brokerage IT Strategy

Ideally educated to degree level or equivalentTOGAF (or equivalent Architecture related) Certified preferred
