Position Overview The Regional Sourcing Director is a senior leadership role responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies across a specific region or multiple regions. This position involves managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and driving cost savings initiatives while ensuring the quality and reliability of the sourced products and services. The Regional Sourcing Director collaborates with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to align sourcing activities with business objectives, optimize supply chain efficiency, and mitigate risks.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Leads a team of Commodity Managers
- Sourcing Strategy : Develop and execute regional sourcing strategies aligned with business objectives. Identify opportunities to improve sourcing processes, drive cost savings, and enhance supplier performance.
- Supplier Management : Manage relationships with suppliers, including conducting supplier assessments, evaluating performance, and negotiating contracts and agreements. Foster collaboration and communication with suppliers to ensure continuous improvement and mutual success.
- Cost Optimization : Analyze spend data, market trends, and supply chain dynamics to identify cost-saving opportunities. Negotiate favorable pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers to optimize costs while maintaining quality standards.
- Supply Chain Collaboration : Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as procurement, logistics, and operations, to align sourcing activities with supply chain objectives. Provide insights and recommendations to enhance supply chain efficiency, reduce lead times, and improve inventory management.
- Risk Mitigation : Identify and mitigate sourcing risks, including supply disruptions, quality issues, and compliance requirements. Develop contingency plans and alternative sourcing strategies to ensure business continuity.
- Supplier Performance Evaluation : Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to evaluate supplier performance. Conduct regular supplier performance reviews and drive improvement initiatives to enhance supplier capabilities and meet business requirements.
- Contract Management : Oversee contract negotiations, renewals, and amendments with suppliers. Ensure contracts are aligned with business needs, comply with legal and regulatory requirements, and protect the organization's interests.
- Market Intelligence : Stay updated with market trends, industry developments, and emerging technologies related to sourcing. Conduct market research and benchmarking to identify new suppliers, evaluate their capabilities, and leverage market opportunities.
- Team Leadership : Lead and develop a regional sourcing team, providing guidance, mentorship, and support. Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and high performance. Qualifications Education :
