Leather Goods Designer

The Designer within D2 International will handle the leather goods category and is responsible for sourcing, pattern cutters, craftsmen and vendor communication. From the initial development stage at proto to salesman samples and following through to production. You will follow up and ensure timely delivery and sample fulfilment. In this position, you will be working closely with design, vendors, sourcing team, pattern cutters and craftsmen. You will report directly to the Head of Development.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES : -

Create tech packs and hold a clear and neat administration

Working closely with designers, craftsmen, and vendors

Continuously improving the product by finding innovative production techniques

Keep up to date with new materials, shapes, and techniques

Fashion forward. Judging proto samples on technical details, measurements and workmanship

Communicating comments to pattern cutters, craftsmen, sourcing team and vendors

Also, anticipating feasibility of changes within the timeline / critical path

Sample progress tracking, monitoring deadlines and status

Product and production know-how to realize best FOB price

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Design 4+ years of relevant experience

Prior experience with a leading export house in designing leather handbags, wallets, and other small leather goods

Excellent leadership and communication skills

Proficiency in Adobe, CAD, Corel Draw
