Role : Senior Manager – Resource Management Group (RMG)

Location : Delhi / Hyderabad / Mumbai / Noida / Pune

Role Summary

The Senior Manager – Resource Management Group (RMG) plays a pivotal role in driving strategic workforce planning and effective deployment of talent across delivery portfolios in an IT consulting environment.

This role ensures optimal utilization of skilled resources, alignment of workforce supply with business demand, and proactive support for project delivery and client commitments. The position requires strong business acumen, analytical expertise, and stakeholder management to balance profitability, agility, and talent engagement.

As a senior RMG leader, you will partner closely with delivery, HR, sales, and finance teams to manage capacity, forecast demand, oversee bench strategy, and ensure readiness for upcoming client projects — enabling smooth operations and sustained business growth.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Education : Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Analytics, Project Management, or a related field (MBA preferred).
  • Experience : 10–15 years in resource management, workforce planning, or delivery operations within an IT consulting or technology services organization.
  • Communication & Influence : Excellent verbal and written communication to convey insights clearly, negotiate effectively, and manage diverse stakeholder expectations and strong interpersonal.
  • Strategic Thinking : Ability to align workforce planning with business vision and delivery roadmaps.
  • Analytical & Data-Driven Approach : Skilled in interpreting trends, creating reports / dashboards, and using data for strategic decisions.
  • Tool Proficiency : Expertise in resource management and HRIS tools (e.g., SAP SuccessFactors, Darwinbox, CIEPAL or any other resource management tool).
  • Advanced Excel & Power BI Skills : Ability to generate insights, dashboards, and utilization analytics.
  • Business & Financial Acumen : Understanding of project staffing models, cost optimization, and margin impact.
  • Stakeholder Management : Strong collaboration and influencing skills to balance delivery, HR, L&D and leadership expectations.
  • Decision-Making & Prioritization : Ability to make quick, fair, and data-backed resource allocation decisions.
  • Problem-Solving & Conflict Resolution : Skilled in resolving resourcing conflicts and bottlenecks proactively.
  • People Leadership : Experience in managing teams, driving accountability, and mentoring WFM professionals.
  • Adaptability & Agility : Comfort with working with different leadership styles, dynamic priorities, evolving technologies, and changing business needs.
  • Planning & Prioritization : Skilled in handling multiple demands and shifting priorities efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Workforce Planning & Allocation

  • Design and implement enterprise-level resource management strategies aligned with business priorities and client delivery plans.
  • Collaborate with delivery and account leaders to forecast resource demand, track supply pipelines, and identify potential gaps or surpluses.
  • Manage end-to-end staffing lifecycle — demand intake, allocation, backfill, and optimization — ensuring the right skills are available at the right time.
  • Drive high resource utilization while maintaining flexibility to support project ramp-ups and client escalations.
  • Delivery Support & Governance

  • Partner with project managers to ensure timely staffing for projects and proposals.
  • Lead monthly / quarterly resource review meetings with delivery and business leadership to review utilization, capacity, and bench metrics.
  • Implement governance mechanisms for transparent and data-driven decision-making on allocation, hiring, and redeployment.
  • Ensure compliance with internal resourcing policies, audit standards, and commercial guidelines.
  • Bench & Redeployment Management

  • Proactively manage the bench by identifying upcoming roll-offs, redeployment opportunities, and reskilling requirements.
  • Work with L&D (Academy) to align training programs with demand forecasts and skill gaps.
  • Minimize bench duration through structured allocation planning and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Analytics, Insights & Reporting

  • Build and maintain dashboards to track utilization, forecast accuracy, and staffing trends using Power BI, Excel, or ERP tools.
  • Provide data-driven insights to leadership on workforce optimization, skill mix, and profitability impact.
  • Leverage analytics to improve forecasting models, enhance decision-making, and drive operational efficiency.
  • Stakeholder Management & Collaboration

  • Act as a strategic partner to delivery, HR, finance, and business units on resourcing priorities.
  • Manage escalations related to resourcing conflicts or priority clashes with fairness and business impact in mind.
  • Support business development teams in providing resourcing inputs for bids and proposals.
  • Leadership & Continuous Improvement

  • Lead and mentor the RMG / WFM team, fostering collaboration, accountability, and consultative problem-solving.
  • Continuously evaluate and refine RMG processes, tools, and governance models for greater agility and efficiency.
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices in workforce management, digital resourcing, and AI-driven forecasting.
