Job description

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance Strategy & Planning

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of maintenance vision, strategy, policies, and procedures to improve operational performance
  • Support new business initiatives and assess their impact on maintenance activities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule
  • Ensure all missed or pending maintenance activities are effectively planned and executed

Operations & Equipment Management

  • Delegate maintenance tasks and projects effectively within the team based on skill sets
  • Schedule internal and external maintenance work, aiming to maximize planned downtime and minimize unplanned outages
  • Ensure machine availability by proactively managing dysfunctional machinery
  • Optimize equipment performance to achieve key operational KPIs
  • Oversee calibration and maintenance of electro-mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
  • Systems, Compliance & Reporting

  • Audit and maintain compliance with engineering data systems
  • Manage equipment and systems data storage, ensuring accuracy and standardization
  • Ensure all maintenance activities are in compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
  • Prepare reports and deliver presentations on maintenance activities, KPIs, and system audits
  • Conduct risk assessments of departmental processes and manage contractor compliance on-site
  • Cost Control & Resource Management

  • Develop accountability for maintenance material spending and control operational expenditure
  • Identify required technical skill sets and resources for successful project execution, including coordination with external contractors
  • People Management & Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing maintenance team to meet performance goals
  • Set departmental KPIs and assess team and individual performance
  • Foster collaboration with key stakeholders to ensure maintenance strategy compliance
  • Provide training and encourage continuous professional development for the team
