Summary :
The Lead Database Administrator will lead and develop a high-performing team responsible for managing SQL Server, Oracle , and to a lesser extent PostgreSQL and MySQL databases. This role involves strategic infrastructure planning , automation , performance monitoring , and ensuring security and compliance of database environments. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, leadership acumen, and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead and mentor a high-performing team managing SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL , and MySQL databases
- Develop and enforce database security and compliance standards
- Contribute to infrastructure design and architecture planning initiatives
- Implement automation for provisioning, patching, and administration using PowerShell , Python , or Ansible
- Monitor databases, servers, and storage to proactively resolve performance bottlenecks
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support infrastructure database needs
- Document database configurations and operational procedures
Basic Qualifications :
Master's degree with 4–6 years of relevant experience ORBachelor's degree with 6–8 years of relevant experience ORDiploma with 10–12 years of relevant experienceAdvanced knowledge of Oracle and SQL Server administrationDemonstrated experience in automating database tasksProficiency with database performance, monitoring, and troubleshooting toolsUnderstanding of OS-level tools for troubleshootingStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsFamiliarity with ITIL frameworks and industry best practicesProven experience in high-performance teamsPreferred Qualifications :
Experience with MSSQL AAG , Oracle RAC , and Oracle Data GuardExperience working in regulated environments , especially in the pharmaceutical sectorProficient in Ansible and PowerShell automationExperience with MySQL and PostgreSQL supportStrong communication , change management , and negotiation skillsProfessional Certifications :
Database certifications such as OCP (Oracle Certified Professional) or MCSP (Microsoft Certified Solutions Professional) – preferredSoft Skills :
