Role Overview
The Agency Manager is a critical, full-time, on-site leadership role based in Aurangabad, tasked with establishing, scaling, and managing a high-performing Life Insurance Agent Network (Agency Channel).
This position is fundamentally responsible for driving business premium targets by aggressively recruiting, training, mentoring, and motivating a team of independent insurance agents to maximize sales across SBI Life's diverse product portfolio (Protection, Pension, Savings, and Health solutions).
The incumbent will be accountable for achieving specific quantitative metrics related to Agent Headcount, New Business Premium (NBP), policy persistency, and overall operational efficiency within the assigned territory.
Key Responsibilities and Agent Network Development & Recruitment : Proactively plan and execute continuous, high-volume recruitment drives for prospective insurance agents, ensuring the onboarding of high-quality candidates who meet company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Training and Skill Enhancement : Take ownership of the agents' professional development by conducting structured product training, sales process coaching, and soft skill development sessions to enhance their domain knowledge and selling capabilities.
- Sales Strategy Execution : Develop and implement localized sales strategies and field activities to promote SBI Life's insurance products, focusing on penetration across various customer segments and ensuring agents meet their individual NBP and policy targets.
- Performance Monitoring and Management : Utilize the company's performance management systems to continuously monitor and review the activity and productivity metrics of all reporting agents (e.g., call rates, closure ratios, policy volume), implementing timely corrective action plans for non-performers.
- Relationship and Motivation : Cultivate strong, long-term professional relationships with the agent team, providing consistent motivation, resolving agent-specific operational issues promptly, and creating a supportive, target-driven work environment.
- Compliance and Operations : Ensure all sales activities conducted by the agency team strictly adhere to IRDAI regulations, AML guidelines, and SBI Life's ethical standards and internal compliance policies, maintaining a high standard of business quality and documentation.
- Market Intelligence and Reporting : Stay updated on local market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs. Provide accurate and timely reporting on sales forecasts, team performance, and business pipeline to the Area / Regional Manager using designated CRM / MIS tools.
- Customer-Centric Focus : Guide agents to adopt a needs-based selling approach, ensuring products recommended align precisely with customer financial planning goals, thereby maximizing customer satisfaction and long-term policy persistency.
Required Proven proficiency and experience in Team Management, Recruitment, and Training within a sales or financial services environment.
Demonstrable Strong Sales and Business Development acumen, with a record of achieving challenging targets through team efforts.Exceptional Communication, Interpersonal, and Leadership Abilities to effectively manage, motivate, and guide a large team of independent agents.Demonstrated comfort and capability with performance monitoring, target setting, and quantitative metric analysis (e.g., productivity per agent).Understanding of the Insurance Industry, Financial Planning concepts, and local market trends in Aurangabad or the surrounding region is highly advantageous.Prior experience in customer service, problem-solving, and conflict resolution is necessary for managing agent and customer queries.A Bachelors or Master's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Commerce, or a related field is strongly preferred.Preferred Skills :
