Key Responsibilities :
- Perform load flow, short circuit, transient stability, and protection coordination studies using standard power system simulation tools.
- Conduct Grid Impact and Interconnection Studies for new projects and assess their impact on the existing power network.
- Design and evaluate substation layouts (AIS / GIS), single line diagrams, equipment sizing, and protection schemes.
- Support concept-to-commissioning activities for large electrical infrastructure and substation projects.
- Ensure compliance with national and international grid codes (CEA, IEC, IEEE, etc.).
- Prepare technical reports, design documentation, and system study reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with transmission / distribution utilities, EPC contractors, and consultants during various project phases.
- Evaluate grid integration requirements for renewable energy projects (solar, wind, hybrid).
- Participate in technical reviews, risk assessments, and design optimization discussions.
Required Skills & Competencies :
Strong understanding of Power System Analysis principles and electrical network modeling.Experience with tools such as ETAP, PSS®E, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSCAD, or MATLAB Simulink.Working knowledge of substation design (up to 400kV or higher) and grid connectivity standards.Ability to interpret protection schemes, relay coordination, and SCADA / automation systems.Capable of working effectively within a multi-disciplinary, international team. Candidate will be working with US teams and should have exposure dealing with international clients.Excellent analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills.Good communication and stakeholder management abilities.Qualification & Experience :
B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical / Power Systems Engineering (M.E. / M.Tech preferred).6 – 10 years of experience in power systems analysis and substation projects with a leading MNC.Prior exposure to transmission / distribution utility projects, renewable integration studies, or grid impact assessments preferred.Skills Required
