Job Summary :
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated U.S. Tax Manager / Senior Manager to lead and manage tax compliance and advisory engagements across a diverse portfolio of U.S. clients. This role will focus on overseeing the delivery of high-quality tax services, managing tax teams, ensuring technical excellence, and fostering strong client relationships. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of U.S. tax laws, leadership capabilities, and experience in managing teams working on complex tax returns and advisory projects.
Client & Engagement Management :
- Oversee the preparation and review of complex federal and state tax returns for corporations (1120, 1120S) and partnerships (1065)
- Manage client engagements from planning to delivery, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and quality
- Identify tax planning opportunities, advise clients on tax strategies, and proactively communicate tax-related updates
- Serve as a primary point of contact for key clients and maintain strong relationships
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to address client inquiries and resolve issues efficiently
- Monitor client satisfaction and implement feedback to improve service delivery
Team Leadership & People Development :
Lead and mentor a team of tax professionals including seniors, staff, and preparers across locationsProvide technical guidance and training on U.S. tax mattersReview team deliverables and ensure high standards of quality and complianceParticipate in hiring, onboarding, and development of tax staffFoster a collaborative team environment that encourages continuous learning and growthSet performance goals, conduct evaluations, and deliver constructive feedbackOperational Excellence :
Monitor workflow, manage deadlines, and ensure effective utilization of resourcesIdentify and implement process improvements and automation opportunitiesEnsure adherence to firm policies and regulatory guidelinesDevelop and maintain documentation of tax processes and proceduresCollaborate with IT and operations teams to enhance tax software functionality and integrationTechnical Expertise & Innovation :
Conduct tax research and provide technical advice on complex tax matters (e.g., international tax, M&A, state nexus, 5471, 8858, 8938, etc.)Stay up to date with evolving U.S. federal and state tax legislationSupport leadership in strategic planning and development of the tax practiceEvaluate and recommend emerging tax technologies and tools to improve efficiencyLead special projects related to tax compliance and advisory servicesQualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldCPA or Enrolled Agent (EA) certification preferred8+ years of progressive U.S. tax experience, with at least 2–3 years in a managerial capacityStrong expertise in U.S. tax compliance for corporations, partnerships, and high-net-worth individualsExperience with international forms (5471, 8865, 8858, etc.) is a plusProven leadership, coaching, and project management skillsProficient in U.S. tax software such as CCH Axcess, UltraTax, or similarExcellent communication, interpersonal, and client-facing skillsAbility to work independently and collaboratively across global teamsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detailPreferred Experience :
Experience with U.S. CPA firms or within global delivery centers / offshore modelsExposure to U.S. tax technology tools (CCH, Ultratax, XCM, etc.)Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and ASC 740 is a plusFamiliarity with transfer pricing and state and local tax (SALT) issuesExperience managing multi-jurisdictional tax compliance and advisory projectsWork Schedule & Compensation :
