About The Role

The Senior Specialist, Technical Product Management - Cards and Payments, plays a vital role within Mastercard's product development team. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the advancement of Mastercard's Next-gen Transaction Switch, a cornerstone in modern payment processing infrastructure. As part of the Product Development Management team, you will be responsible for designing specifications, developing new products and services, and ensuring seamless integration of technical components. Your role will involve close collaboration with engineering teams to translate product requirements into actionable technical specifications, creating comprehensive roadmaps, and managing the product lifecycle from conception through deployment. You will be instrumental in delivering innovative payment solutions that enhance user experience, security, and efficiency, embodying Mastercard's commitment to moving fast and creating value for our customers and partners.

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, candidates should possess a bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. A minimum of six years of experience in product management, development, or ownership is preferred, with at least two years specifically in product management or as a technical product manager. Candidates should demonstrate a strong passion for technology, innovation, digital commerce, and payments. An understanding of financial data, software engineering principles, and technical tools such as cloud platforms, databases, SQL, or analytics is essential. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required, along with the ability to analyze complex information and make informed decisions independently. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Experience in stakeholder management, cross-functional collaboration, and delivering complex projects is highly valued.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop detailed specifications for new products, features, and services, including defining functional and technical requirements.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to create robust and achievable product roadmaps, ensuring all tasks necessary for product readiness are included.
• Participate actively in the entire product development lifecycle, focusing on features, benefits, pricing, rules, and implementation guidelines.
• Provide technical insights and documentation to facilitate the translation of product requirements into technical specifications for engineering teams.
• Contribute to the development and enhancement of existing products, ensuring they meet market needs and technological standards.
• Create comprehensive product documentation, including user guides, product overviews, and training materials to support internal teams and clients.
• Work cross-functionally with internal teams across various departments, leveraging internal resources to ensure seamless product delivery.
