Role Overview
The India Head – Lateral Recruitment will lead and oversee the entire lateral hiring function for the organization’. This role will be responsible for designing and executing recruitment strategies, ensuring timely and high-quality talent acquisition across all business units, and driving efficiency, scalability, and employer branding.
This leadership role requires close partnership with business heads, HR Business Partners, and HR leaders ensuring sustainable and strategic workforce fulfilment.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Define and implement the lateral recruitment strategy in alignment with business growth plans and talent priorities.
- Build a scalable and agile recruitment model to meet evolving business needs (volume vs. niche hiring).
- Partner with leadership teams to anticipate hiring demands and workforce planning requirements.
Operational Excellence
Oversee end-to-end lateral hiring across all functions (Technology, Sales, Operations, Finance, Support, etc.).Ensure recruitment KPIs (time-to-fill, cost-per-hire, quality-of-hire, offer-to-join ratio) are achieved or exceeded.Standardize recruitment processes, policies, and compliance with local labour laws.Implement robust candidate screening, assessment (competency) , and selection methodologies.Stakeholder Management
Act as a trusted advisor to business leaders for workforce planning, talent market insights, and recruitment best practices.Partner with stakeholders to align recruitment efforts with overall business strategy (attrition backfill, diversity goals, succession planning).Technology & Analytics
Drive adoption of ATS, AI-driven sourcing tools, and digital platforms for efficiency.Use data-driven insights to track hiring performance, forecast needs, and improve decision-making.Publish periodic dashboards and reports on recruitment health and business alignment.Team Leadership
Build and lead a high-performing recruitment team, including recruiters, sourcers, and coordinators.Mentor and develop recruitment managers and leads, fostering a performance-driven culture.Ensure capability-building through ongoing training in sourcing, assessments, and candidate experience.Employer Branding & Candidate Experience
Strengthen the company’s presence as an employer of choice in the Indian market.Ensure an exceptional candidate experience throughout the recruitment lifecycle.Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Postgraduate / MBA in HR or related field.15+ years of progressive experience in recruitment, with at least 5+ years in a leadership capacity.Proven track record of managing large-scale lateral hiring across diverse functions.Strong knowledge of India talent market dynamics across industries.Experience in implementing ATS, recruitment analytics, and digital hiring solutions.Skills & Competencies
