About the role

The Project management / execution specialist will support assigned major projects in successful execution from pre-kickoff until final commissioning. The role will aim to build strong customer relationship and trust through professionalism in strong project execution support.

He / She will provide proactive technical support and engineering advice to internal team members as well as customer project teams. This will include engineering drawings reviews, design support, material planning and coordination to ensure strong on-time project execution per plan. Will be the main end-to-end owner of the assigned projects managing all stakeholders' expectations and deliverables, leading regular project meetings, providing timely reports and updates as well as escalating issues / roadblocks to relevant departments to drive continuous project progress.

Role & responsibilities

Project planning & reporting duties

  • Support all assigned projects in complete end-to-end in planning and execution activities.
  • Lead / Participate in pre-sales / kickoff project meetings and provide relevant information required to ensure a strong start to all projects.
  • Be the key contact engineer for project related issues and provide required solutions to keep project on schedule.
  • Main coordinator for GF staff and ensure that effective communication exists among the various department involved in projects, as well as ensure resource allocation is efficient and sufficient to complete the project.
  • Conduct site inspections and provide regular updates to project members on progress. Coordinate needed internal resources to resolve issues timely.
  • Gatekeeper for GF quality. Report on quality issues and ensure correct installation methods of contractors on-site.

Engineering support, material selection trainings and 3 rd party vendors

  • Be the key GF engineering champion to support in resolving various customer technical enquiries and issues during the project cycle (with internal GF teams supporting as required)
  • Proactive reviews of customer BOM / selected materials list on accuracy, engineering soundness and support in advising on best possible options to reduce errors, costs and excess materials
  • Basic engineering drawings review or creation per project needs.
  • Support in material takeoff services as required.
  • Evaluation and management of 3rd party vendors when required for project supply (e.g. contractors, fabricators, parts vendors…)

    Project materials availability and planning

  • Create project material delivery schedule with customer project team and drive collections per plan.
  • Work closely with operations and supply chain on consistent review of materials consumption levels and report in on requirements regularly.
  • Coordinate delivery requirements with internal operations team.

    Preferred competencies

  • Minimum 3-5 years in engineering project design, management, planning or equivalent positions
  • Diploma / or Degree in mechanical engineering
  • Engineering software experience in Autocad / Plant 3D or REVIT and equivalent
  • Strong MS EXCEL and MS Office (Powerpoint / Word) usage skills
