Job Description : SAP ArchiveLink / Document Management Consultant (Consultant Level)

Role Overview :

The Consultant will support the design, configuration, and deployment of SAP document archiving and management solutions across enterprise environments. Key responsibilities include implementing SAP ArchiveLink, SAP DMS, and external content repositories, as well as enabling barcode scanning processes and document compliance. The role requires a hands-on, analytical contributor with a good foundation in SAP’s document workflow landscape.

Key Responsibilities

Configure and maintain SAP ArchiveLink, Content Repositories, and SAP DMS under senior guidance.

Support integration and operationalisation of external content repositories (e.g., OpenText or KPro) for business document storage and retrieval.

Participate in the implementation of barcode scanning (including late barcode scanning) solutions within SAP environments.

Conduct troubleshooting of document archiving issues and suggest process improvements.

Execute assigned ABAP enhancements, including function modules, user exits, BADIs, and maintain or update SAP database tables.

Work closely with cross-functional teams and end-users during system testing and go-live support.

Mandatory Skills & Experience

Total Experience :  5–8 years in SAP techno-functional consulting.

Relevant Experience :  At least 3 years directly in SAP ArchiveLink, SAP DMS, document archiving, and content repository integration.

Working knowledge of customising and supporting SAP ArchiveLink & DMS scenarios.

Practical hands-on exposure with at least one external content repository platform, such as OpenText.

Understanding of SAP KPro and barcode scanning integrations within SAP.

Basic to intermediate proficiency in ABAP for functional enhancements.

Optional Skills

Experience with CMIS integration.

Familiarity with user exit, BADI / BAPI implementations, and Fiori document integration.

Exposure to scripting for archiving process automation.
