Introduction

We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to strengthen our core Data Engineering team. In this key role, you will ensure the secure, scalable, and efficient management of trading data that supports all analytics, reporting, and decision-making across the firm.

The Role

Responsibilities and Priorities

  • Manage and monitor distributed systems, high-capacity storage, and data processing platforms including HDFS, Kubernetes, and proprietary data pipelines.
  • Drive systems automation, CI / CD integration, and rapid deployment of new hardware and software solutions.
  • Partner with systems and network engineers, traders, and developers to resolve operational queries swiftly.
  • Research emerging tools and technologies, then evaluate and implement improvements to maintain industry-leading standards.

The Profile

Experience, Ability and Knowledge

  • Proven track record managing multi-petabyte data infrastructure in fast-paced environments.
  • Advanced Linux administration skills; mastery of system internals and troubleshooting.
  • Deep proficiency in one or more of Kafka, Spark, Cassandra / Scylla, or HDFS.
  • Strong container orchestration skills with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm.
  • Experience with data access tools (Dremio, Presto) and workflow orchestration (Airflow, Prefect).
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Understanding of data security, governance, and compliance best practices.
