Staff / Principal Backend Engineer - System Design & Architecture

Job descriptionDesign and develop scalable and efficient backend systems. Architect and implement APIs and microservices. Ensure the system architecture meets high availability and performance requirements. Identify opportunities for innovation and improvement in the backend systems. Drive the adoption of modern technologies and best practices. Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in backend development. Collaborate with product managers to understand project requirements and priorities. Participate in project planning, estimation, and resource allocation. Execute projects in a timely manner, meeting quality standards and deadlines. Investigate and resolve complex technical issues in the backend systems. Perform root cause analysis and implement necessary fixes and enhancements. Ensure proper monitoring and logging to proactively identify and address issues. Collaborate with frontend engineers, product managers, and QA engineers to deliver cohesive solutions. Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure code quality. Work closely with DevOps and infrastructure teams for deployment and performance optimization. 8+ years of experience in backend engineering roles. Strong expertise in Python, Postgres, React, Typescript, and BigQuery. Proven track record of technical leadership and guidance. Experience in system architecture and design of scalable solutions. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Excellent collaboration and communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.
