Software Test Engineer - Manual Tester – API Testing

Job Title : Manual Tester – API Testing (2–4 Years Experience)

Job Description :

We are looking for a Manual Tester with a minimum of 2 years of strong hands-on experience in API Testing. This is a mandatory requirement. The ideal candidate should have solid knowledge of API concepts, test scenario creation, debugging, and validation techniques. Experience with web and mobile application testing is an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities :

Perform end-to-end API Testing (Mandatory)

Design and execute test cases for Functional, Integration, and Regression testing

Test APIs using Postman, Swagger, and similar tools

Validate request / response payloads, status codes, headers, schema, and error handling

Collaborate closely with developers and product teams to understand API requirements

Log, track, and re-verify defects using JIRA, Bugzilla, or similar tools

Conduct manual testing for web and mobile applications (iOS / Android)

Participate in test planning, estimation, and QA discussions

Mandatory Skills :

Minimum 2 years of strong hands-on experience in API Testing (REST / SOAP)

Strong knowledge of API concepts, JSON, XML, request / response structures, and debugging

Required Skills & Experience :

2–4 years of experience in Manual Testing

Ability to write clear and effective test cases

Good understanding of SDLC, STLC, defect lifecycle, and Agile methodologies

Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills

Good to Have :

Experience with Charles Proxy, Fiddler, or browser DevTools

Basic SQL knowledge for backend data validation

Prior experience working in Agile / Scrum teams
