Role Description
This is a full-time in office / on-site role for a Structural Engineer- Constructions located in Mumbai.
Design structural steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, wood and glass structures
Technical Competencies & Expertise
A Structural Engineer must demonstrate proficiency in the following domains :
1. Structural Design & Analysis
- RCC , PEB & Steel structure design as per IS codes (IS 456, IS 800, IS 1893, IS 875),, IS 1893 : 2016,IS 800 : 2007,IS 801 : 1975,IS 875 (Part 1–5), MBMA / AISC (US Codes)
- Design of foundations, beams, columns, slabs, retaining walls, and staircases.
- Seismic and wind load analysis.
- Soil-structure interaction understanding.
- Structural retrofitting and strengthening methods.
2. Software Proficiency
Essential : STAAD.Pro, ETABS, AutoCAD.Preferred : SAFE, SAP2000, Tekla, Revit, MS Excel (for design sheets), and BIM tools.Ability to generate analytical models and optimize design efficiency.3. Construction & Detailing
Preparation and review of structural drawings, bar bending schedules, and reinforcement details.Coordination with architects and MEP consultants for structural compatibility.Site inspections to verify formwork, reinforcement, and concreting quality.4. Code & Standards Knowledge
Indian Standards : IS 456, IS 3370, IS 800, IS 875 (Parts 1–5), IS 1893, IS 13920, SP34, NBC 2016.International familiarity (advantageous) : ACI, BS, or Euro Codes.5. Project Management & Documentation
Preparation of structural calculation reports, design notes, and technical presentations.Ability to lead structural audits and provide stability certificates.Cost optimization and value engineering while maintaining safety.6) Demonstrate proficiency in
Analyze gravity and lateral load resisting systemsDesign and detail structural elementsCreate drawings and communicate with Drafting and BIM DepartmentCoordinate drawings with other disciplines (Architects, MEP Engineers, etc.)Respond to RFI’s and review drawingsVisit construction sites & drive progress and rectify process flows if anyQualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related fieldStructural Analysis and Calculations skillsStructural Engineering and Civil Engineering experienceRequired Skillsets :
