Data Engineer II

Job Description

As a Data Engineer II, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining data infrastructure that supports data science activities, including machine learning (ML) projects. You will work closely with data scientists, other data engineers, and cloud infrastructure teams in both Bengaluru and the US to ensure the scalability, reliability, and operational excellence of AI / ML systems.

Primary responsibilities

1. Apply data science practices for data quality, feature engineering, and exploratory modeling

2. Work with cross-functional teams to assess data science use cases & solutions

3. Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment of data solutions with business goals

4. Designing and building new tables to support evolving data needs.

5. Stay current with the latest trends and tools in Data Science and cloud-native technologies.

Mandatory Skills :

1. Master’s in computer science, Data Engineering, or a related field with 3+ years of experience in Engineering or cloud-based systems for data science applications

2. Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Amazon Web Services (AWS).

3. Strong programming skills in Python and cloud SDKs.

4. Proficiency in DevOps tools : Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Airflow, Jenkins, or similar.

5. Experience with Machine Learning lifecycle platforms (e.g., MLflow, Kubeflow, VertexAI, SageMaker).

6. Experience with CI / CD pipelines tailored to Data Science workflows & understanding monitoring tools.

7. Experience with large-scale multimedia datasets, including texts, images, and videos

8. Solid knowledge of version control, testing, and security practices in deployments.

9. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and adept at working with multiple stakeholders

Good to Have :

• Experience in the Media domain.
• Familiarity with LLM deployment strategies and vector databases like Pinecone or Milvus.
• Experience with feature store solutions such as Feast or Vertex / SageMaker Feature Store
