Role Summary :
A renewable energy modeller’s role summary is to develop and apply energy system models to simulate, analyze, and optimize the performance of solar, wind, and other renewable projects or building systems. The role delivers detailed reports, validates models against real-world performance, and helps ensure environmental compliance, cost-effectiveness, and efficiency throughout project development and operations.
Key Tasks & Accountability :
Development of renewable power generation models using MS excel / Python or similar
Develop, run, and validate models to simulate renewable energy generation, grid integration, and system performance using MS excel / Python or similar
Analyze resource data (solar, wind, etc.), energy consumption patterns, and grid constraints to optimize system design.
Assess project feasibility by predicting energy yield, cost, and environmental benefits, supporting site selection and planning.
Collaborate with engineers, architects, and policy teams to interpret results and support project development or policy decisions.
Analysis of meteorological data sets
Work on Energy transition Systems.
Identify trends, patterns, and opportunities within energy systems.
Work on use cases related to transition of High emitting sectors in Energy to Low / No Carbon.
Keeping track on the Renewable Energy market around the globe.
Education and Experience :
Domain expertise and qualifications include, but are not limited to :
Master’s degree or bachelor’s degree relevant to the renewable energy, engineering, environmental science, meteorology or a related field.
Should have experience of 3-5 years in Energy Sector
Skills :
Good understanding of the renowned solar / wind power generation models
Deep understanding on the meteorological data sets
problem solving and analytical skills
Good understanding of EXCEL / Python / R or any other programming languages
Good understanding on mathematical modeling
Knowledge on the software like Homer / PVsyst / SAM / Wind Pro / Windographer / WASP / Wind Pro etc. is desirable
What you will do :
Modeling the integration of renewables with storage and grid systems for reliability analysis.
Evaluating the impacts of different policy and regulatory scenarios on renewable deployment.
Collaborating with engineers and market analysts to refine assumptions and improve model accuracy.
Documenting methodologies, key assumptions, and providing transparent input / output data for project audits.
