Teamware Solutions is seeking a dedicated Database Administrator (DBA) - L2 to ensure the robust performance, availability, and security of our critical database systems. You will play a key role in supporting our diverse database environments, performing routine administration, troubleshooting complex issues, and contributing to database optimization and maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine database administration tasks including installation, configuration, patching, and upgrades for various database technologies.
- Monitor database health, performance, and capacity, taking proactive steps to resolve issues and ensure optimal operation.
- Execute and verify database backups and recovery procedures to safeguard data integrity and availability.
- Conduct performance tuning of SQL queries and database configurations to enhance application response times.
- Manage database security, user access, and permissions in compliance with organizational policies.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex database-related incidents and problems, acting as an escalation point for L1 support.
- Participate in database design reviews, contribute to schema changes, and support application development teams.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Database Administrator at an L2 support level .Skills Required :
Strong proficiency in administering at least one major relational database such as Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL .Solid experience with database backup and recovery methodologies (e.g., RMAN for Oracle, native backups for SQL Server).Hands-on experience with database performance monitoring and tuning tools .Understanding of database security principles and user management.Ability to write and optimize SQL queries .Familiarity with operating systems (e.g., Linux, Windows Server) relevant to database hosting.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills for database issues.Excellent communication and collaboration skills.Preferred Skills :
Experience with high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) solutions (e.g., Oracle RAC / Data Guard, SQL Server AlwaysOn).Knowledge of NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis).Familiarity with cloud database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database).Scripting proficiency (e.g., Shell, Python, PowerShell) for automation.Relevant database administration certifications.Skills Required
