Role Overview
The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) will be responsible for driving sales growth, distribution expansion, and team leadership across the assigned region. This role requires strategic planning, operational excellence, and hands-on execution to ensure sales targets are achieved while building strong client relationships and ensuring maximum penetration of airpay vyaapaars products and services.
As the RSM, you will oversee the end-to-end sales cycle, ensure effective management of distribution channels, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to enhance market presence and achieve business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Strategy & Execution
- Develop and implement regional sales strategies aligned with overall business objectives.
- Achieve and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets across products and services.
- Drive revenue growth through acquisition of new partners, merchants, and distribution points.
- Continuously evaluate market trends, customer preferences, and competitor strategies to refine sales plans.
Distribution & Channel Management
Expand and strengthen distribution networks by identifying, onboarding, and managing distributors, channel partners, and retail points.Ensure effective channel performance monitoring, conflict resolution, and compliance with company policies.Optimize last-mile delivery and service availability to underserved markets.Team Leadership & People Management
Recruit, train, and mentor regional sales executives, area managers, and field officers.Define clear KPIs and performance metrics for the sales team.Drive a culture of accountability, motivation, and continuous improvement through coaching and regular performance reviews.Client & Stakeholder Relationship Management
Build and nurture strong client and partner relationships, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and retention.Act as the primary point of contact for regional clients and distribution partners.Collaborate with finance, product, and operations teams to ensure smooth client onboarding and service delivery.Performance Tracking & Reporting
Monitor sales pipeline, conversion rates, and revenue growth using CRM and reporting tools.Conduct data-driven analysis to identify gaps, forecast demand, and recommend corrective actions.Prepare and present regular sales performance reports to senior management.Qualifications & Experience
Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred).8-12 years of proven experience in sales and distribution management, preferably in Financial Services, Telecom, or Retail industries.Demonstrated ability to manage large sales teams and drive high performance.Hands-on experience in building and scaling distribution networks across diverse markets.Skills & Competencies
Strong expertise in Sales Management, Business Development, and Distribution Operations.Excellent Client Relationship Management and Negotiation skills.Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret sales data and market insights.Proficiency in CRM tools, MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint), and sales reporting systems.Strong leadership qualities with the ability to inspire, coach, and lead large teams.Excellent communication skills in English, Hindi, and local languages.Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned region.(ref : iimjobs.com)
