Position : AI Tutor – Materials Science Specialist
Type : Full-time
Compensation : $90,000–$200,000 / year
Location : Palo Alto, CA (in-office, 5 days per week) or Remote
Commitment : 40 hours / week
Role Responsibilities
- Use proprietary tools to label, annotate, and evaluate materials science data.
- Support the creation of high-quality datasets for advanced AI training.
- Collaborate with technical teams to refine annotation systems and workflows.
- Analyze and solve problems across diverse materials science subfields to improve model reasoning and performance.
- Interpret evolving instructions and deliver accurate, consistent results under minimal supervision.
Qualifications
Must-Have
Master's degree or PhD in materials science, physics, chemistry, chemical engineering, or a related field.Deep expertise in areas such as semiconductors, energy materials, nanomaterials, alloys, ceramics, biomaterials, or polymers.Strong command of written and spoken English.Skilled in research, data analysis, and use of scientific databases.Excellent communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills.Ability to work independently and apply sound judgment to complex challenges.Preferred
Publications or patents demonstrating expertise in materials science.Teaching or tutoring experience in scientific or technical subjects.Prior experience in AI data annotation or technical writing.Experience mentoring or guiding others in scientific research.Compensation & Legal
