General duties

Site preparation and excavation : Clearing debris digging trenches and preparing the subgrade to be flat and stable.

Paving and resurfacing : Laying asphalt or concrete and repairing existing surfaces by filling potholes and cracks.

Installation of infrastructure : Installing safety features such as crash barriers road signs traffic signals and street lamps.

Traffic control : Setting up cones barricades and directing traffic as a flagman to ensure the safety of workers and the public.

Maintenance : Painting road markings maintaining roadside verges and clearing snow and grit roads in winter.

Equipment operation

Operating heavy machinery like backhoes bulldozers and pavers.

Using power tools and equipment for tasks like jackhammering and cement mixing.

Specialized roles

Surveyor : Measuring land mapping the roads path and ensuring the alignment and elevation meet specifications.

Project Manager : Overseeing the entire project managing budgets coordinating teams and ensuring efficiency and safety.
