Technical expertise with routing protocols (RIP, EIGRP, OSPF, BGP) and switching (VLAN, Trunking, Dot1x, various flavors of STP)
Hands-on experience in MPLS, QoS and VoIP
Hands-on experience for network troubleshooting in LAN / WAN environment
Strong technical and subject matter expertise in at least one or more of the following specialties :
Cisco GSR routers and switches like Catalyst 3560 / 3750 / 4948Juniper MX series routers and switches EX4200SDWAN – Silver Peak (Aruba / HP), Cisco Viptela, FortinetTransmission technologies like Alcatel 7750SR-c12, Alcatel 7470, ADVAWAN Optimizers (Riverbed, Juniper, Citrix)WirelessNexus Switches, VSSKnowledge on SDWAN technologies using Silver Peak (Aruba / HP), Viptela and Fortinet
Knowledge of security technologies
Knowledge on scripting languages like Python
Excellent communications skills and must have worked with Global customers and global carriers
Understanding and expertise on security products (Firewall / IPS / SIEM / SIM / IVE / SA / Proxy) and Linux
Provide comprehensive maintenance plans for change management review and approval; implement according to the plan
Manage and support MPLS backbone spanning across globe
RESPONSIBILITIESEngineers who have a passion and understanding for providing outstanding customer service. This person will be a part of a team of experts who are responsible for handling and providing network / security support, problem management, managing network performance and proactively identifying issues before they become customer affecting. This team provides 24x7 support, as well as provides training to junior engineers.Support the operations of advanced IP network / security services; take escalations from Level 1 and Level 2 engineers and / or as directed by the Operations’ ManagersWork experience in a fast-paced Network Operations environmentExperience in remote troubleshooting and diagnosis of network connectivity issuesWork with a variety of customers and vendors (technical as well as non-technical)Communicate technical jargon to non-technical peopleReceive calls from customers and work on trouble tickets to resolve customer-escalated network and security issuesWork with Telecommunication Service Providers to resolve escalated circuit problemsPerform complex changes on the network and security devicesWork with hardware / software vendors to resolve problemsWork in a rotating shift scheduleManage Global Operations Center shifts and exchange handoff between various shiftsManage daily work distribution for Global Operations CenterBecome an SME for a few priority customer accounts and be proactive to improve customer serviceTrain and mentor juniorsParticipate in various Network and Security projectsParticipate in weekly / monthly / quarterly service review calls with customersContribute in providing appropriate content for the weekly / monthly / quarterly service reportsAny additional task given to the incumbent from time-to-time based on business needsTRAINING AND CERTIFICATIONCCNA, CCNP, JCNIA, JNCIS, CCIE, JNCIP, JNCIEEXPERIENCEMinimum 7 years of progressive, relevant experience and proven capability to work in a complex network environmentEDUCATIONBachelor in Engineering - Computers / Electronics / Communication or related fieldGraduate / Post Graduate in Science / Maths / IT or related streams with relevant technology experienceTECHNICAL AND OTHER SKILLSMS Office proficiencyAptitude and desire to learn advanced IP network servicesITIL process awareness
