Role Overview :
We are looking for a Planning Manager – MEP to lead our engineering and design office , overseeing the end-to-end design process across all MEP disciplines— Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Firefighting . This is a critical leadership role responsible for translating BOQs into coordinated IFC / GFC drawings , managing the design pipeline, and ensuring timely and error-free drawing releases for site execution.
You will act as a central link between client consultants, internal project teams, and CE's planning and execution units—ensuring design integrity, clash-free coordination, and readiness for on-ground implementation.
Key Responsibilities :
Engineering & Design Leadership
- Lead multi-disciplinary MEP design activities across industrial projects.
- Oversee generation and release of coordinated GFC / IFC drawings aligned with BOQs and site-specific requirements.
- Manage a team of Draftsmen and Design Engineers covering HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety, and process utilities.
- Implement and enforce drawing standards, design version control, and internal approval protocols.
Planning & Coordination
Align drawing deliverables with project timelines, procurement schedules, and execution sequences.Conduct regular drawing review and clash-resolution meetings with internal stakeholders and external consultants.Monitor site constraints and proactively revise designs to reflect real-time ground conditions.Ensure all design quantities are accurate and drawing versions are tracked in Promasch .Stakeholder Management
Liaise with client consultants and engineering teams for design approvals and technical clarifications.Support estimation and costing by validating engineering inputs, sections, and material quantities.Provide final engineering sign-off prior to key construction and procurement milestones.Team Leadership
Lead and mentor a team of 5–6 Draftsmen and 2–3 Design Engineers .Establish a robust quality check system for all design outputs before release.Foster a collaborative and technically rigorous culture within the design team.Ideal Candidate Profile :
Education :
B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical or Electrical EngineeringExposure to MEP design tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, or BIM preferredExperience :
12-18 years of experience in MEP engineering and designStrong background in industrial projects , especially cleanrooms, data centers, or high-spec manufacturing facilitiesExperience in leading multidisciplinary MEP design teams across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire systemsSkills :
Strong proficiency in AutoCAD (2D mandatory; 3D a plus)Familiarity with relevant codes and standards : ASHRAE, NBC, IS, NFPA , etc.Working knowledge of HVAC loads, DBRs, lighting layouts, cable tray routing, plumbing systems, etc.Strong coordination and communication skills to interface with Project Managers, QA / QC, Procurement, and ClientsAbility to manage high-pressure timelines and parallel design streamsSkills Required
