Key Responsibilities :

In material planning for Salcomp, the buyer's role is to source and procure raw materials, components, and supplies, ensuring they meet quality standards and are available in a timely and cost-effective manner to support production.

Sourcing and Procurement :

Identifying and evaluating potential suppliers based on factors like quality, cost, reliability, and delivery speed.

Negotiating contracts and prices with suppliers.

Placing purchase orders to ensure timely delivery of materials.

Material Management :

Maintaining adequate material levels on-site to support production schedules.

Managing inventory, including raw materials, work-in-process, and finished products.

Addressing material shortages and developing action plans.

Collaboration and Communication :

Working closely with manufacturing, engineering, and other relevant departments to ensure material availability and meet production needs.

Communicating with stakeholders about material availability, potential issues, and action plans.

Quality Control :

Ensuring that procured materials meet the required quality standards.

Working with suppliers to address any quality issues.

Cost Efficiency :

Focus on finding the best value for money, balancing quality, cost and delivery times

Skills & Qualification :

Experience in material planning, inventory management, and supply chain management. 2-5 Years

Knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., SAP).

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
