Job Summary :
We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in real estate accounting, including project cost tracking, revenue recognition, taxation, and compliance. This role requires accuracy, strong analytical skills, and a sound understanding of accounting principles applicable to real estate operations.
Key Responsibilities :
General Accounting & Bookkeeping
- Manage day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable / receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
- Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual closings.
- Maintain accurate financial records in compliance with applicable accounting standards (e.g., Ind AS).
Project Accounting
Monitor and track project-wise costs, revenues, and profitability.Coordinate with project managers and site teams to reconcile project-related expenses.Maintain proper allocation of expenses to respective projects and cost centers.Revenue Recognition & Invoicing
Manage revenue recognition in accordance with real estate norms (e.g., percentage of completion method).Oversee customer billing, receipts, and sales booking entries.Work with the CRM / Sales team to ensure timely invoicing and collections.Compliance & Taxation
Ensure compliance with statutory requirements including GST, TDS, Income Tax, and RERA.Prepare and file tax returns and other regulatory filings as required.Coordinate with auditors, consultants, and government authorities for statutory audits and inspections.MIS & Reporting
Prepare financial reports, cash flow statements, and project-wise profitability reports.Provide timely and accurate MIS to management for strategic decision-making.Assist in budget preparation and variance analysis.Internal Controls & Process Improvement
Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and improve financial accuracy.Streamline accounting processes and support digital transformation initiatives.Key Requirements :
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce. CA Inter or MBA (Finance) preferred.5–8 years of accounting experience, with at least 2–3 years in real estate or construction.Sound knowledge of Indian Accounting Standards, GST, TDS, and RERA compliance.Hands-on experience with accounting software such as Tally ERP, SAP, or similar systems.Proficient in MS Excel and financial modeling tools.Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset, and problem-solving skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.Preferred Attributes :
Experience working in a real estate developer or construction firm.Familiarity with project-based accounting and real estate sales cycle.Good communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.Proactive and self-driven approach to work.
