high-quality cotton, natural dye prints, and child-safe fabrics
that combine comfort, durability, and style.
We are looking for a
Sourcing cum Merchandiser
who can build our supply chain from the ground up, manage vendor relationships, and ensure timely, high-quality deliveries.
Key Responsibilities
Sourcing
Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable
fabric suppliers, job workers, and accessory vendors
for kids wear production.
Negotiate
best costings, payment terms, and lead times
while ensuring child-safe fabric standards (azo-free dyes, skin-friendly processes).
Continuously research new fabrics, trims, and trends in kids wear (1–6 years category).
Build a strong vendor database for woven, knits, and value-added processes (printing, embroidery, washing).
Merchandising
Translate design concepts into
tech packs, BOMs, and cost sheets
for production.
Manage
sample development
cycle—ensure samples are aligned to Babylish quality and timelines.
Plan production orders, track T&A calendars, and ensure
on-time delivery
from suppliers / factories.
Conduct quality checks at different stages (fabric inspection, inline, and final QC).
Liaise with designers, vendors, and internal teams to bridge design–production–sales seamlessly.
Market & Business Support
Analyze competitors’ kids wear ranges (boys category), fabrics, and costing strategies.
Provide regular feedback on
pricing, sizing, and trends
based on supplier inputs and market intelligence.
Assist in building seasonal line-ups by suggesting fabrics, trims, and value additions that improve product appeal.
Desired Candidate Profile
Education :
Degree / Diploma in Fashion Merchandising, Textile Technology, or Garment Manufacturing (NIFT / Pearl / equivalent preferred).
Experience : Minimum 4–6 years in
sourcing and merchandising for kids wear
(experience in boys’ category is a strong plus).
Strong knowledge of
cotton fabrics, knits, washes, natural dyes, and kids wear sizing (1–6 years) .
Proven track record of
vendor negotiation, cost optimization, and timely execution .
Excellent communication and coordination skills to handle multiple vendors and internal stakeholders.
Hands-on approach with willingness to travel to vendor locations, mills, and job workers.
