We are seeking an experienced and versatile Cloud Database Administrator (DBA) with strong expertise in managing, maintaining, and optimizing diverse database technologies across cloud environments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud, a solid understanding of database architecture and performance tuning, and a proactive approach to ensuring data reliability, security, and scalability.
Key Responsibilities :
Database Management :
Deploy, configure, maintain, and optimize databases — both relational and non-relational — across major cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).
Migration Expertise :
Lead or support cloud migration projects, including assessment, planning, and execution of on-premises databases to cloud environments.
Performance Optimization :
Monitor and tune database performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to ensure high availability and reliability.
Security & Compliance :
Implement and maintain database security policies, including encryption, access controls, and compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
Collaboration :
Work closely with application development, infrastructure, and DevOps teams to ensure seamless integration and optimal database performance.
Automation :
Design and develop scripts or automation workflows to streamline database administration, backup, and monitoring tasks.
Monitoring & Reporting :
Utilize tools such as Grafana, CloudWatch, Datadog, or Prometheus to monitor database performance and generate health reports.
Technical Proficiencies :
Relational Databases :
Strong expertise in PostgreSQL and Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL).
Optional Skills :
Working knowledge of Oracle, MySQL, and NoSQL databases (e.g., Cassandra, MongoDB) is a plus.
Cloud Platforms :
Experience managing and optimizing databases on Azure, AWS, and / or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Scripting & Automation :
Proficiency in PowerShell, Python, or Shell scripting for automation and process improvement.
Monitoring Tools :
Experience with Grafana, Datadog, CloudWatch, or Prometheus for performance monitoring and alerting.
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
Minimum 5+ years of experience in Database Administration, including at least 2 years working in cloud environments.
Experience with database backup, recovery, and replication strategies.
Familiarity with DevOps, CI / CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools is an advantage.
Cloud certifications such as :
AWS Certified Database – Specialty, or
Microsoft Certified : Azure Database Administrator Associate, or
Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer — are highly preferred.
