Sr. Testing Engineer

Role & responsibilities

• Experience in testing ETL products especially Talend / Informatica 9.x or Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) and PL / SQL
• Should have financial domain knowledge
• Good Knowledge of dimensional modelling and data warehouse concepts, such as star schemas, snowflakes, dimensions, facts
• Must have strong SQL skills
• Ensure all sign offs on deliverables (overall test strategy, test plan, test cases, ) and that testing meets governance requirements
• Responsible for ensuring quality of the work of the entire development team
• Create test cases / test data and perform Test execution
• Review Data Mappings, Architectural Documentation to create / execute effective Test Plans and test cases
• Validates data by running queries in the database and verify that the results match the expectations
• Analyzes and troubleshoots erroneous results, determines the root cause of defects, logs the defects in Azure board and enables defect management, including working with the development team on the resolution of Software related defects
• Handson experience with automation testing is preferred
• Works closely with software development team (Business Analysts, Developers & other testers) to ensure timely and effective testing effort
• Writing queries to extract data for test case data comparison, and test automation(Python / Java)
• Solid understanding of databases and systems and the ability to communicate effectively across groups
• Flexible in thought and creative in approach to testing
• Must be a self-starter with the ability to work on complex projects and analyses business requirements independently
• Must be able to identify and document testing issues and quality risks, participate in defect remediation
• Willingness to follow Agile Testing practices and guidelines
• Actively participate in all test management activities like assessment, test strategies and test plans
• Should have excellent written and verbal communication skills
