Key Responsibilities and Focus Areas

Key Responsibilities :

Audit Management

Lead and coordinate Tax Audits under Income Tax and GST Acts.

Support Internal and Statutory Audits, ensuring timely closure of open issues.

Maintain and track audit schedules to ensure completion 15 days before statutory due dates.

Tax Compliance

Ensure timely payment of Direct and Indirect Taxes.

File all statutory returns (Income Tax, GST, TDS, SFT, ITR) within due dates.

Monitor issuance of statutory forms and perform reconciliations (GST Credit, 26AS, etc.).

Maintain compliance dashboards with weekly progress tracking.

Tax Assessments

Respond to tax notices and review tax orders for necessary actions.

Ensure statutory compliance with assessment timelines.

Track and report progress on assessment-related tasks weekly.

Process Improvements

Drive implementation of new tax regulations and changes.

Ensure compliance with 194R and other emerging tax provisions.

Lead automation and process improvement initiatives in tax operations.

Develop and execute SOPs for tax processes, targeting one process improvement per month.

Tax Subsidy Claims

Coordinate with consultants and internal teams to prepare and submit subsidy claims.

Ensure closure of tax incentives for Maharashtra and Karnataka.

Conduct weekly follow-ups to ensure timely and accurate submissions.

Cross-functional Collaboration

Liaise with Sales, Marketing, AP / AR, Plant Teams, and GBS Group for tax-related matters.

Provide tax guidance and ensure smooth coordination with external consultants.

Foster a collaborative environment aligned with JSW values.

Timeliness : Ensure all filings, audits, and assessments are completed before due dates.

Accuracy : Maintain high standards of accuracy in reconciliations and tax filings.

Compliance : Stay updated with tax laws and ensure full statutory compliance.

Efficiency : Identify and implement automation opportunities to streamline tax processes.

Stakeholder Management : Effectively manage internal and external stakeholders for seamless tax operations.

Candidate Profile

Educational & Work Experience :

CA with 4 to 6 years of experience

Key Competencies | Skills :

Strong knowledge of Direct and Indirect Taxation (Income Tax, GST, TDS, etc.)

Proficiency in SAP for tax data extraction, reconciliation, and reporting

Advanced Excel skills for data analysis, reconciliations, and compliance tracking

Experience in handling audits and tax assessments with statutory authorities

Ability to lead and manage teams, delegate tasks, and monitor progress

Strong stakeholder management and collaboration across departments and with consultants

Aptitude for process improvement and automation in tax operations

Up-to-date understanding of regulatory changes and implementation strategies
