In India, JDF supports several healthcare programs including Maternal and Neonatal Health, Tuberculosis, Rheumatology, and Eye Care Initiatives. Our programs are implemented in collaboration with government hospitals, academic institutions, and local partners.
About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Program Associate (Social Worker / Nurse / Pharmacist) with strong experience in hospital settings, particularly in Obstetrics & Gynecology departments.
The primary responsibility will be to monitor and evaluate JDF’s Maternal Health Initiative implemented at government medical colleges. This is an office-based role in Delhi with ~50% travel to hospitals where JDF is providing support.
The candidate will also contribute to other JDF initiatives (e.g., TB, Rheumatology, Eye Care) as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor maternal health program activities across partner hospitals.
- Evaluate maternal mortalities and identify gaps in medicines, medical devices, and emergency services.
- Conduct needs assessments and recommend programmatic improvements.
- Engage directly with patients and families to provide counseling, guidance, and follow-up support.
- Track patient outcomes and ensure continuity of care through structured follow-ups.
- Monitor inventory and usage of medicines and maternal health kits donated by JDF.
- Ensure optimal utilization of donated resources and identify opportunities for expansion of support.
- Liaise with hospital staff, OBGYN departments, and administrators to strengthen implementation.
- Document field observations, prepare evaluation reports, and support program-level decision-making.
- Coordinate with JDF’s Delhi office for program logistics, partner communication, and data management.
- Support other healthcare initiatives of JDF on a need basis.
Required Qualifications
Degree in Social Work, Nursing, Pharmacy, Public HealthExperience working in hospital settings (preferably in Obstetrics & Gynecology or maternal health programs).2–4 years of relevant experience in public health or healthcare program implementation.Comfortable with frequent travel (~50%) to government hospitals across regions supported by JDF.
