Job Description Summary
Impact Dynamics is the critical domain in aircraft engines as it corelates directly to design and certification. The main objective of the Impact Dynamics team is to minimize the need for engineering tests & build confidence with the regulating bodies to allow certification by analysis.
The main responsibilities are to provide accurate pre-test prediction for Impact tests to avoid surprise in component tests and engine certification (Fan Blade Out, containment, bird / ice impact etc.). Develop LS-Dyna as a design tool for Design Optimization - weight / cost reductions, MRB issue resolution, and Field Fixes & Advance state of the art and leverage the knowledge base across GE through Documented standard work / Best-Practices. The team is enabling GE's vision by developing physics & data driven engineering tools for improving aircraft engines & gas turbine performance and providing GE's customer better value.
