Role Summary :
Messe Muenchen India is seeking a strategic and growth-focused professional to join as Director - Strategy. This role works closely with the CEO as a strategic sparring partner to shape and execute business growth strategies across the IMEA (India, Middle East, Africa) region. The Director - Strategy will lead high-impact strategic initiatives, identify new growth opportunities, and drive cross-functional alignment to maximize market impact.

Roles and Responsibilities (including but not limited to) :
Collaborate with the CEO to drive strategic initiatives focused on revenue growth, market expansion, and positioning across IMEA.
Strategic Planning & Growth
Define and execute the mid to long-term strategic roadmap for India, Middle East and Africa, aligned with business objectives.Identify high-potential sectors, growth markets, and new themes for trade fairs.Recommend partnerships, alliances, or acquisitions to strengthen market position.Track policy, regulatory, and macroeconomic developments impacting the exhibitions sector.Market Intelligence & Insights
Lead continuous market intelligence to monitor industry trends, buyer–seller dynamics, and competitor activity across IMEA.Build frameworks for evaluating new fairs and optimizing the existing portfolio.Benchmark against global best practices and adapt models for regional relevance.Deliver actionable intelligence reports, forecasts, and dashboards to guide leadership decisions.Business Performance & Portfolio Management
Evaluate trade fair performance across IMEA; recommend expansion, repositioning, or rationalization.Provide insights to enhance event ROI, pricing, and value propositions.Ensure events deliver measurable business outcomes and customer satisfaction.Leadership & Collaboration
Lead and mentor a market intelligence team, fostering an insight-driven culture.Collaborate with global strategy teams for alignment and knowledge sharing.Support the C-suite in board reviews and strategic pitches.Skills & Competencies
Strong strategic mindset with proven ability to influence top-line growth.Expertise in market intelligence, competitive analysis, and business forecasting across multiple geographies.Deep understanding of B2B industries, trade fairs, or allied sectors (IMEA experience preferred).Ability to translate insights into actionable business strategies.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with C-suite exposure.Collaborative leadership style with the ability to drive cross-border initiatives.Requirements
Candidate Requirements :
MBA or Master’s degree in Business, Economics, Marketing, or related field.12–18 years of professional experience, with at least 5 years in a senior strategy / market intelligence roles.Proven track record of shaping strategy and delivering measurable business impact.Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate and influence stakeholders at all organizational levels.Proven ability to drive cross-functional teams and handle multiple projects simultaneously.Strong business acumen and financial literacy.Experience in trade fairs, events, publications, or allied industries is a plus.Benefits
