Job Title : Senior Automation Trainer – Pharmaceutical Industry

Job Summary :
We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Trainer with over 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical manufacturing and process automation sector . The trainer will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering training programs focused on industrial automation systems , GMP-compliant operations , PLC / SCADA / DCS systems , and validation processes used in pharmaceutical production and packaging. The ideal candidate should combine hands-on technical expertise with strong instructional and communication skills to upskill engineers, technicians, and operators in automation technologies aligned with regulatory and quality standards .
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop and deliver technical training programs on automation systems (PLC, SCADA, DCS, HMI, MES, BMS, EMS, etc.) used in pharma manufacturing.
- Train participants on GMP-compliant automation practices , data integrity , and 21 CFR Part 11 compliance.
- Conduct hands-on training sessions on system design, configuration, troubleshooting, and validation .
- Prepare training manuals, e-learning modules, case studies , and assessment tools .
- Evaluate trainee performance and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and quality assurance teams to ensure training aligns with operational and compliance needs.
- Stay updated with the latest automation technologies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements (GAMP5, FDA, MHRA, WHO).
- Support in designing skill certification programs and competency matrices for automation engineers.
- Conduct refresher programs and workshops on new automation trends (IoT, Industry 4.0, digital twins, etc.) in pharma.
- Ensure training delivery adheres to safety , quality , and data security protocols.
Required Skills & Competencies :
Strong understanding of pharma automation systems such as Siemens, Rockwell, Schneider, DeltaV, or ABB .Experience in process automation , machine automation , packaging line automation , and clean utility monitoring systems .Knowledge of CSV (Computer System Validation) and GAMP5 guidelines.Familiarity with pharma production processes (formulation, filling, sterilization, packaging, etc.).Excellent communication, presentation, and mentoring skills.Ability to simplify complex technical concepts for diverse learners.Proficiency in developing training content and evaluation metrics .Qualifications :
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, Electronics, Automation, or related Engineering discipline.Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in automation systems within the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry .Prior experience as a trainer, mentor, or technical lead preferred.Certifications in PLC / SCADA / DCS systems , GAMP5 , or pharma automation technologies are advantageous.Preferred Expertise :
Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) , Batch Control Systems , or Automation Cybersecurity .Exposure to Industry 4.0 , IoT integration , and data analytics in pharma automation.Experience in developing e-learning or simulation-based training tools.
