Position Summary : We are seeking a Cloud FinOps to join our Athena Cloud Efficiency (ACE) team in Bangalore . The ideal candidate will be responsible for analyzing cloud financial operations, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and ensuring the efficient use of cloud resources. This role requires deep expertise in cloud cost management , cloud cost optimization , and Cloud FinOps practices.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams to analyze and collect data, provide financial insights, and develop reports, budgets, forecasts, and dashboards-including KPIs, analytics, and capacity metrics.
Essential Functions :
Financial Reporting
- Prepare financial reports, presentations, and dashboards to provide insights to management and stakeholders.
- Create alerts and reports to track spending trends and the impact of cost optimizations.
- Develop and maintain financial models for budgeting, forecasting, and tracking cloud costs.
- Conduct cloud utilization and spend analysis with optimization recommendations.
- Leverage Apptio or Cloudability tools to generate detailed financial reports and dashboards.
Data Processing
Build and maintain a FinOps Data repository , integrating data sources via APIs and automating allocations.Aggregate and summarize complex data for executive-level reporting.Cost Optimization
Identify and implement procedures to reduce cloud costs and improve financial efficiency.Drive savings through Reserved Instances , Savings Plans , and SPOT instances .Monitor cloud usage and subscription costs to identify optimization opportunities.Budgeting & Forecasting
Support budget and forecast development using financial analysis and historical data.Collaborate with Accounting to ensure accurate billing, refunds, and discounts.Manage the cloud invoice process.Qualifications, Education & Key Skills
Bachelor's degree required (Master's preferred) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field3 to 5 years of professional experience, including 2+ years in Cloud FinOps or cloud spend optimizationStrong understanding of Cloud Cost Management , Cloud Cost Optimization , and Cloud FinOps principlesExperience with cloud platforms such as AWS , Azure , or Google CloudHands-on experience with tools like AWS Cost Explorer , AWS Trusted Advisor , Azure Cost Management , and Azure AdvisorProficiency in AWS Quicksight dashboard developmentExperience with Apptio / Cloudability report and dashboard development ( highly recommended )Scripting experience using PowerShell or similar toolsFamiliarity with SaaS technologies and cloud costing tools such as Power BI , Tableau , CloudHealth , CloudCheckr , Data Lake , and APIsExperience with at least one cloud billing system ( AWS or Azure )Ability to structure and optimize a FinOps Data repository , including data ingestion, governance, storage, and API integrationStrong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skillsAbility to thrive in a lean, agile, and fast-paced environmentFinOps certification ( highly recommended ) or willingness to attain within 12 monthsExperience working in an Agile environment preferredSkills Required
