Job description
Overview :
A senior network analyst typically has a wide range of responsibilities, which can include :
- Monitoring and planning network security measures such as firewalls and intrusion detection systems (IDS)
- Monitoring network performance to ensure it meets business objectives
- Providing technical support for computer networks including installation, configuration, troubleshooting, capacity planning, and maintenance
- Monitoring network performance to ensure it meets business objectives
- Designing and implementing new network architectures, including introducing new technologies when necessary
- Analyzing network traffic patterns to identify potential security threats or opportunities for improvement
- Analyzing user requirements and designing new computer networks or updating existing ones to meet these requirements
- Analyzing network requirements, designing network topology, and creating diagrams of how the network will look when completed
- Maintaining and administering an organizations computer network by performing tasks such as installing new software and hardware on servers and workstations
Education : Senior network analysts have at least a bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, information systems or a related field.
Training & Experience : Senior network analysts should have at least five years of experience in the IT industry.
Certifications & Licenses : Senior network Analyst should be atleast CCNA completed.
Duties & Responsibilities
Design, implement, and maintain the network infrastructure for an organizationPlan and coordinate network upgrades, expansions, and security measuresAnalyze network usage data to identify trends and recommend improvementsMonitor network performance and troubleshoot issues as they ariseAssist in the development of network policies and proceduresTrain junior staff members on network administration tasksStay up-to-date on industry developments and emerging technologiesManage vendor relationships and support contractsCreate detailed documentation of the network infrastructureRespond to after-hours network emergenciesPerform regular backups of network dataBachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field5+ years experience in network administration and analysisCCNP certificationStrong understanding of LAN / WAN technologiesWorking knowledge of routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancersSolid understanding of TCP / IP protocolsAbility to troubleshoot complex technical problemsSkills Required
