Database Lead - PostgreSQL

Job descriptionIn this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing scalable, secure, and high-performance database solutions. You will oversee day-to-day operations of MS SQL, Oracle, and PostgreSQL database systems, ensuring they meet business requirements and performance standards. A key responsibility will be collaborating with application developers, network engineers, and other IT teams to ensure seamless integration of database systems. You will also be tasked with troubleshooting complex database issues, implementing backup and disaster recovery plans, and ensuring data security across all systems. Additionally, you will work on optimizing database performance, scaling systems for future growth, and ensuring all relevant database maintenance tasks are completed in a timely manner. You will mentor and guide a team of database administrators, fostering best practices in coding, database management, and agile delivery. You will also be involved in capacity planning, ensuring the database systems scale according to future requirements. Another key responsibility will be managing database configurations, backups, and high-availability systems to minimize any risk to the business operations. The ideal candidate will have at least 57 years of experience working with MS SQL, Oracle, and PostgreSQL databases. You should have a strong background in designing high-performance, scalable database architectures and have experience with cloud database platforms like AWS or Azure. Experience with database administration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting is essential for success in this role. Familiarity with automation tools for database management and disaster recovery solutions will be highly beneficial. A strong understanding of data security practices, including GDPR compliance, is also required. The ability to mentor and manage a team of database administrators will set you apart, along with having strong knowledge of cloud-based databases and experience with advanced performance tuning. If you have certifications in MS SQL, Oracle, or PostgreSQL, it will be an added advantage. Experience with DevOps, CI / CD pipelines, and database automation tools will also make you stand out. Additionally, your ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and take ownership of database projects will be key to your success.
About the Role :
