Job brief

A result driven power sector professional with hands-on experience in the Power Transaction.

Role would be to lead the delivery and conclusion of Transactions related to Power / Electricity. Should be able to understand the different requirement of Commercial & Industrial customers and proposed solution and conclude the same.

Should have expertise and understanding of the policy and regulatory landscape of different States within India related to Open Access, Green Open Access, Captive consumption, Power Generation, Banking, and its impact on the cost of power thereof. Should have knowledge of various means of transactions related to the Power sale to consumers or Power procurement options of such consumers. Should have the additional understanding and knowledge of CER / VER and the methodology of transactions.

The candidate is expected to have existing networks and relationships and also develop the relationships and network on behalf of the Company with Market Participants and related Institutions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Operationalize all transactions for the company. To ensure completion of end-to-end transactions for all customers for electricity as well as EACs.

a. 3rd Party open access transactions

b. Group Captive transactions

c. Roof Top Solar

d. Power Exchange transactions

e. EACs like I-REC / RECs / VCUs / CERs / etc.

2. Build, maintain, update all documentation related to various Open Access transactions.

3. Interact with Power Exchanges, NLDC, RLDC, SLDC for open access transactions including getting the approvals

4. Application filing, follow up, obtaining approvals, any rectification for the same with relevant agencies

5. Document filing with LDCs

6. Ensuring Scheduling and Dispatch

7. Billing, reconciliations and collections

8. Maintain and update MIS

9. Business Development initiatives, especially for EAC transactions and Power Sale transactions

10. As sist Business Development activities by engaging with other organisation and creating opportunities for the same.

11. Any other responsibility as may be assigned by the Company.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in Power Trading / Power industry be it from Seller or Buyer side
  • Strong understanding of the Indian Power sector, its regulatory landscape and power sale domain.
  • Proven track record in handling and understanding of end-to-end power sale / power transaction
  • Strong ability to organize effectively, delegate responsibility, solve problems quickly and communicate clearly.
  • Has to be result-driven, be self-motivated and proactive, have strong and innovative problem solving skills, be open and welcoming to change, and work comfortably in a constantly evolving environment.
  • Superior analytical, interpersonal skills, negotiation skills and communication skills.

Education

o Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent degree from reputed educational institutes is desired. Electrical Engineering Degree is preferred.

o Advanced Excel skills would be required
