Position : Software Engineer IV (Senior Java Lead)

Location : Bangalore (Onsite) & Remote (except Bangalore)

Contract Duration : 1 year

Software Engineer IV (Senior Java Lead)

1. Position Details

  • Job Title : Senior Software Development Lead
  • Team : CS Platform under CSMT
  • Experience in the Role : 8 to 15 years

2. Role Summary

  • Senior Software Development Lead responsible for leading global engineering initiatives that power client's customer support systems.
  • Owns design, development, and operational excellence of scalable APIs, frameworks, and integrations that improve customer outcomes and agent productivity.
  • Will build and manage a high-performing distributed team, drive DevOps / Agile practices, and shape long-term platform strategy.
  • Represent the team in Leadership calls, Production and Essential Engineering calls
  • 3. Key Skills and Technologies

  • Must-Have Skills :
  • Strong API and Backend Software fundamentals; expertise in distributed systems.
  • Java, Python, Spring Boot.
  • SOA, SOAP, REST APIs, messaging (Kafka, Flink).
  • Agile & DevOps (CI / CD, Docker / Kubernetes, IaC, monitoring).
  • Strong track record in building and scaling engineering teams, leading globally distributed teams, and delivering complex backend systems.
  • Preferred Skills :
  • Experience with enterprise-scale customer support tools.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted development and automation.
  • Customer-focused mindset with innovation-driven approach.

  • Certifications : None are explicitly required. However, certifications in Agile / Scrum, Cloud (AWS / Azure / GCP), or DevOps practices could be considered a plus.

    Domain Expertise : Strong expertise in distributed systems, backend engineering, customer support platforms, and enterprise-scale system integrations is required. Experience with customer support technologies (case / contact management, automation workflows, SaaS integrations) is highly preferred.

  • Number of rounds and types (technical, managerial, cultural fit, etc.) : four, each session 45 minutes.
