Job description

Title : Finance Delhi / Hybrid or Remote 5-7 Years of experience commensurate with skills and experience. NGO Experience The successful Finance manager shall be detail oriented and able to assist the finance lead with day-to-day financial procedures and internal financial controls. They shall be managing financial records, recording, updating and reviewing financial data for audits and reviews.

Key Results :

  • Effective and efficient finance team.
  • Support with internal financial controls and procedures.
  • Effective management of databases and budget.

Key Activities :

  • Managing accounting record keeping systems, and procedures for tracking and reporting, including recommending remedial measures.
  • Preparing multiple complex and varied financial reports (including ad hoc reports) that require selection, preparation, and interpretation of data using complex data query tools.
  • Understanding and upkeep of various financial compliances and accounts processes, by liaising with the internal team and external finance stakeholders, including accountants, auditors, CA, etc.
  • Process documentation for agreements, contracts, sub grants, work authorizations, and purchase orders as well as monitor performance against contract of responsibility :
  • Weekly updates and quarterly reports to the Finance Lead.
  • Strong relationships with the internal and external team members.
  • Effectively implementing new initiatives and managing Factors for Success :
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field (i.e. Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting).
  • 5 -7 years of relevant, full-time work experience, preferably in financial management, budgeting, administration, or nonprofit operations.
  • Must be adaptable to rapidly changing priorities and have the ability to manage multiple projects with varying deadlines.
  • Attention to deadlines particularly with regard to grant compliance and monitoring sub grant and contract relationships.
  • Strong process orientation with sensitivity to quality, timelines, and organizational systems.
  • Strong writing, database management, and proofreading skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to work well in a team.
  • Strong computer skills including high level of comfort with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word,
  • PowerPoint, Outlook), web-based communications (Skype, Zoom).

  • Budgeting experience with Excel is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to travel to different locations across India, as required.
