Role Overview

The Associate Director – Indirect Tax will lead the Indirect Tax practice for India, managing client engagements, providing strategic tax advisory, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving business development initiatives. The role requires strong technical expertise in GST, Customs, and other indirect tax laws, along with leadership and client relationship management skills.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage the Indirect Tax team, ensuring timely and high-quality deliverables.

Advise clients on complex indirect tax matters, including GST, Customs, and cross-border transactions.

Oversee GST audits, health checks, and compliance reviews.

Manage GST litigation and represent clients before tax authorities and tribunals.

Provide strategic tax planning to optimize clients’ indirect tax positions.

Review and interpret changes in indirect tax laws, circulars, and notifications to ensure client compliance.

Collaborate with other service lines (Direct Tax, Audit, Advisory) for integrated client solutions.

Identify business opportunities and contribute to practice growth.

Mentor and develop team members through continuous learning and guidance.

Maintain strong client relationships and ensure client satisfaction.

Requirements

Qualification : Chartered Accountant (CA) 2011-2018 passout

Experience : 7- 10 years of post-qualification experience in Indirect Tax, preferably with a reputed consulting or Big 4 firm.

Strong technical expertise in GST, Customs, and other indirect taxes.

Proven experience in advisory, compliance, and litigation support.

Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

Ability to manage multiple engagements and drive practice profitability.
