Summary :

The Director of Cloud Operations is responsible for leading the strategy, design, implementation, and day-to-day management of cloud infrastructure and operations. This role ensures the performance, reliability, scalability, and security of cloud environments that support HCL’s CX applications and services. The ideal candidate combines strong leadership skills with deep technical expertise in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and Modern DevOps methodologies. This role is critical in ensuring 24 / 7 uptime, seamless operational management, and optimized performance across both single and multi-tenant environments. You will drive operational excellence, cloud efficiency, and automation, enabling rapid product iteration and reliable customer experience.

Experience :

Qualified candidates should have 15+ years of experience and a demonstrated track record in the successful design and delivery of complex customer solutions in public and hybrid cloud architectures in a leadership role. Candidate should be very familiar with modern cloud architectures and hyperscalers.

We are looking for DevOps leadership, and experience in designing, managing, or operating SAAS platforms. Experience in managing compliance requirements and demonstrated success in managing environments with strong compliance requirements.

This is a visible role in a 24 x 7 global operating environment. Candidate should have10+ years of

senior management experience and should have experience working in a global, complex organization.

Responsibilities :

1. Lead and manage the cloud operations team responsible for infrastructure, platform services,

and DevOps.

2. Define and drive the cloud operations roadmap, aligning with business and technology

strategies.

3. Ensure high availability and performance of cloud-hosted applications and services.

4. Oversee incident management, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement processes.

5. Manage cloud cost optimization, including budgeting, forecasting, and resource utilization.

6. Establish and enforce operational best practices, including monitoring, backup, disaster

recovery, and security.

7. Collaborate with engineering, product, and security teams to deliver scalable and resilient

cloud solutions.

8. Ensure compliance with data privacy, security, and regulatory standards (e.g., SOC 2, PCI, ISO

27001, GDPR, etc).

9. Drive automation and Infrastructure as Code practices to improve operational efficiency and

reduce risk.

10. Implement and refine monitoring, alerting, and incident response procedures for SaaS uptime

guarantees.

11. Build and maintain vendor relationships with cloud providers, key software vendors, and

others, and evaluate new tools and technologies.

12. Promote a culture of performance, reliability, and continuous improvement across all

operational layers.

Qualifications :

 15+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure or DevOps, including 10+ years in a leadership

role

 Deep experience with public cloud platforms in a SaaS context.

 Demonstrated ability to manage cloud environments at scale (multi-region, multi-account).

 Experience with infrastructure-as-code, monitoring stacks (e.g., Prometheus, Open Telemetry),

and incident management.

 Understanding of SaaS operational challenges : tenant isolation, deployment pipelines, real-

time monitoring.

 Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills. Experience

working in a large, complex, global matrixed organization.

 Experience meeting compliance requirements for SaaS offerings (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI,

HIPAA)

 Experienced in On Premises to Cloud migrations

Travel :

5% + / - travel required

Location :

India based. Hyderabad preferred. Noida, Pune, Bengaluru will work as well.
